Hans-Joachim (Achim) Brede is the founder of BREDEX GmbH and is one of the managing directors of the company.
He has implemented and managed multiple, highly complex customer projects and is responsible for the concepts in the development of the automated test tool GUIdancer and the Eclipse Project Jubula.
Achim holds a Masters in Computer Science and has worked with the University of Braunschweig and Digital Equipment as a technical consultant. He was on the Eclipse Board of Directors in 2009.
In early 2011, core parts of the GUIdancer testing tool were released as the Eclipse Jubula Project. Testers using Jubula can automate, execute and analyze the results of functional tests. The Jubula approach is different from many other tools: test creation neither involves the “capture-replay” method, nor are any programming activities required to automate tests.
Jubula is therefore aimed at teams who want to incorporate the customer perspective early and continuously into their process. Testers can create black-box tests which can be written before (ATDD) or in parallel to software development, allowing collaboration and discus-sion about the emerging software as well as frequent automated regression testing.
This talk begins by introducing the concepts behind Jubula before giving a demonstration of the tool and its integration into the test and development process.
